10 year Friendaversary

 

First time for everything:

This was by far the most unique photo session I have ever had the pleasure of photographing! Would you believe that when Destiny contacted me for a best friend 10 year anniversary shoot I almost didn’t write her back!? Now let me explain. I get a ton of junk and scam email all the time. You can usually spot the scam ones right off because of the unusual event or payment methods they request. But I’ve always wanted to photograph a best friend session, so this request really peaked my interest. I figured at worst I would have only wasted 5 minutes writing a reply email if it didn’t work out. And I’m so glad I responded to her email because I would have seriously missed out on the most fun, friendly, and entertaining clients I’ve ever had!

This session was the complete opposite of boring!! These ladies really put a lot of thought and preparation into making this session completely unique and personal to them. And I believe we really captured a true representation of the friendship they have had over the last 10 years. They have developed a beautiful friendship and formed such a special sister bond. And to think in the beginning they hated each others guts! Thats right! Back in high school they worked at a local IHOP together and couldn’t stand the sight of each other. Until one night at work Destiny over heard a phone conversation in which Kassandra needed a ride home but was unable to obtain one. Destiny graciously offered her enemy a ride of home and the rest was history. To the point they don’t even remember why they didn’t like each other in the first place! To think it only cost a little kindness and some humility and yet they gained something far more valuable then they imagined possible.

 

Thankful:

I also have to mention these ladies went out of their way to thank me and show appreciation. They sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a cute camera lens coffee mug. But the kindest gesture was the note they wrote. “We wanted to thank you for your patience and the beautiful work especially when we had no clue what we were doing! You are a gorgeous soul and we will cherish our pictures for years to come! – From Destiny and Kassandra, the goofy bff’s”. Seriously! The nicest thing a client has ever done! The gifts were special in and of themselves. But the note is far more valuable to me! I’m so grateful to have had these ladies as clients!
