Alta Vista Botanical Gardens | Beck Engagement

I had the pleasure about a month ago to photograph this lovely couple at the botanical gardens down in Vista. Fun fact, I actually grew up in Vista and lived there for 12 years of my life. The funny thing is I never even knew this botanical garden was there and it was less then a few miles from my old house! It was nice to reminisce as I drove through the city and it was neat to get to explore a new place I had never been. Liz happened to find this location on a google search and I’m so glad she did!

I met Drew at my church through the worship ministry team. He and his girlfriend had been dating for several years with a majority of it being long distance. Do to the fact that he was originally from Pensilvania and she was still living there. Liz recently moved out to California to attend college and it was finally time for them to take the next step in their relationship (though marriage had been in their plans for a long time). I had to copy the below portion from their facebook pages from their engagement day because seriously they are truly the sweetest and there is no way I could re-write it better.

“Life isn’t about the destination, it’s about the journey, and our relationship has been quite the journey. Over 20,000 miles of travel, tens of thousands of hours on FaceTime across 3 time zones, over a million text messages and more “I miss you..”s said and sent then I can count. But this one moment, when you said yes, made every inch, second, and breath spoken worth it. Thanks for the time we’ve had, and the time we will have. I love you.” -Drew

“So far we’ve spent 1,764 days together. 1,029 of those days have been spent 2,500 miles apart. I can’t wait to spend countless days with you side by side. I love you.” – Lizzy

If that isn’t romantic movie material then I don’t know what is!
