ย 8 Wedding Trends of 2020
Accompanying each new year is the arrival of fresh wedding trends. And 2020 is no exception! Couples are making their wedding uniquely their own. Not by throwing out the old traditions but by giving them new life with creative alternatives. Here is a list of some of the top trends for this coming year.
1: Florals
Florals are no longer just for bridal bouquets. They can be used to decorate just about everything from cakes, to favors, to hair pieces, to centerpieces to hanging showstoppers. A new trend is for couples to drop the greenery which allows for a wider variety of stunning flowers and colors. Try adding a non-traditional element like assorted grasses in place of greenery. Pampas grass is a favorite of mine. Its soft elegant look adds texture to anything from a bridal bouquet to large scale backdrops.
2: Wedding Gowns
Non-traditional gowns have been growing in popularity for awhile now. Every bride wants to to show off her unique personality and she is now doing it in statement dresses. Brides are expressing themselves with striking gowns and veils. Bold colors and floral printed dress are among the most popular right now.
3: Instagram Worthy Backdrops
The days of simply repurposing ceremony alters and arches to reception focal points and photo booth backdrops has passed. Couples are showing off their personal style with entire stylized spaces dedicated for their guests to take photos in.ย A customized sign with the couples names or sweet sayings add a personalized touch. Make a statement with themed wedding decor or a huge neon sign.
4: Meaningful Alternatives
Brides are adding a new spin to some of the traditional events of a wedding day to make it more personalized and true to them. Instead of a bouquet toss consider presenting a bouquet to the longest married couple. Taking a moment to recognize their accomplishment and your own anticipation for a long and happy marriage. Or present a soon to be bride with a bouquet to bring her luck and wish her congratulations. Another really fun alternative to the bouquet toss is the ribbon game. The bride stands in the center and attaches a long ribbon for each of her friends who circle around her. She then must close her eyes and cut off a ribbon, one at a time. The last friend with a ribbon attached wins the bouquet. So meaningful and fun!
5: Live Entertainment
Surprise your guests and keep them entertained all evening with these unforgettable options. A caricature artist is sure to delight your guests and provide them with a memorable keepsake. A live band will have your guest entertained and on the dance floor all evening.
6: Fresh & Fun Wedding Decor
If you thought balloons were just for birthday parties, think again! No matter your theme this is a fun and playful way to get creative with your decor. Customize the balloons with words or sayings, fill with confetti, or supersize these floating decorations into your day. Another fresh idea Iโm in love with is beautifully hand painted acrylic signs. Brides are opting for customized and hand-illustrated signage and decor.
7: Natural Venues
Many brides are opting for a minimalist approach to their wedding venues and are letting the beauty of nature provide the perfect landscapes for their special day. The stunning beauty of national parks and forest are hard to compare with. This trend is popular for the adventure couples or intimate ceremonies.
8: Mobile Drinks & Treats
Of course guests attend a wedding to celebrate the bride and groom but really we know they stay for the food and drinks. A sure way to having a memorable event is through mobile bars and treat trucks. Couples can choose to cater entire meals or add that extra special treat. Some of the favorites are mobile bars, coffee carts, and candy trucks.
