Easter 2020 & Covid-19

Easter 2020 | Safer at Home

Easter 2020 was wonderful!

Take that covid-19! Social distancing can not take away away our faith and hope!! Though we had to change most of our normal Easter traditions we found ways to make this day special. It was really nice to slow down and focus on The Reason we even celebrate this holiday in the first place. We are usually so busy prepping the house or food or entertaining guests that we often don’t even spend much time as a family on Easter. Not to mention that Ryan has worked (fire fighter life) most Easter’s since we’ve been married and he usually doesn’t get to even be home with us.

We started our day by sleeping in (just a little) and watching our Reliance Church service online (you can watch it here), and in our jammies t00! Normally Easter morning is a mad rush to get ready and out the door to get a parking spot and good seat at church. This year we made brunch and ate together as a family. We then dressed up in the same outfits we wore last Easter and braved the chilly outdoors for a few family photos together.

The girls finally got in their egg hunt, though they really missed enjoying this tradition with cousins. I found ‘Adventures in Odyssey’ Movies on Amazon Prime. So we spent the afternoon watching those with the girls and snacking on cheese and crackers. I cooked a 13 lb ham for dinner. Yeah, we will be eating leftovers for about a week. We group FaceTime & Zoom’ed grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins to finish off our evening. This might not have been the Easter day we originally planned or expected, but we definitely made the most out of the circumstances and chose to find the good and be joyful because we are so blessed to have each other!

P.S. A few people asked about the patio love seat. It was from Target a year ago, but they still have a set in a different color. Click HERE to see it.
